During my senior year at California College of The Arts, I was in a one-year committed course of cross-discipline majors, where we focused on the concept of belonging. In the second half of the semester, each team was given a budget to hold events, so my team and I decided to host a workshop named "Who Are You Wearing?" 

 

We wanted to have sustainability to be involved in a major part of the resources we used, so we focused on thrifting t-shirts (or people were welcome to bring their garments), tote bags, embroidery, fabric scraps, and buttons. Also, providing the people with other tools like fabric markers, an iron-on print design, and many more.

This event idea was inspired by our conversation with Verasphere and brought inspiration to share our workshop with others. Creating a comfortable workshop space where we let our creativity take over our clothing to describe one's individual self-expression and not needing permission. A hidden language that we don't say with words but with our appearance. Visually creating our own belonging to ourselves and how we share our world with others.
